The world I see isn't black, the world I see isn't white. The world I see has so many different shades, shapes, hues, colors and angles, some black and dark like death and hate, some bright, beautiful and promising like love and compassion. I feel like these "colors" are constantly changing not just to me but also to the world around. My view is there is good and there is bad, but all that is subjective to me. What is good and what is bad might be completely different to somebody else. My bright green might be somebody's black and somebody's bright green might be my black. While I may not like or understand everyones choices I accept them because I know everybody's view is different. The World I "see" I know is only a fraction of whats really there, whats really going on. Everybody has their own story, their own feelings, reasons for them being who they are. Everybody "see's" the world differently and thats what i see.
The world you see, is truly only seen through your eyes.

Tuesdays With Morrie Review
Tuesdays With Morrie was overall a very touching book. The story of a withering life, a teacher who wants to give even when it seems there is nothing more to give. The book takes place for the most part in Morrie's study in his house. Morrie was a sociology teacher who loved things like dancing, music and specially eating. the book follows Morrie's life after he is diagnosed with ALS. A disease that slowly paralyzes his body while leaving his mind and soul completely in tact. The doctors give him two years to live. A student of Morrie's who promised to keep in touch after his graduation (but failed to) finds out about all of that through Nightline, a TV show. He visits Morrie and their old friendship is almost instantly rekindled. Morrie then begins to talk with Mitch and teaches him life lessons every Tuesday while his condition worsens. It is Morries last class and Mitch is the only student.
I enjoyed the book thoroughly, it made me rethink some aspects of my life mainly how materialistic it is. The book touches heavily on topics like love, culture, family, acceptance, life and death. I would defenently recommend this book to friend to read. i recommend it do every single person to read. I don't think theres anybody this book can't touch.

Ender's Game
I decided to read Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Published by Tom Doherty Associates, LLC. Card was born the third of six children in Washington but grew up in Santa Clara California. Card has won two science fiction award those being the Hugo and Nebula awards, The two top science fiction awards consecutively. And is an active member of the church.
The book takes place in the future on both earth and space. The Earth is nearing a war with an alien race dubbed the buggers. After the last two attacks earth is nearing its demise. Left with little option Earth starts to train military prodigy's from childhood to fight the third invasion. The main character after being inducted into the army quickly rises to the top ranks. He is believed to be the only thing that can same the human race from the third invasion. After many battles Ender comes to a shocking ending of his battle school training, something that he could have never seen coming.
"Sometimes lies are more dependable than the truth." pg. 2
"I don't care if i pass your test, I don't care if i follow your rules. If you can cheat so can I. I wont let you beat me unfairly, I'll beat you unfairly first." pg. 293
Two really important themes of this book to me are deceit and struggle. Deceit i would definitely say is the more important theme because the whole story is one big deceit. They continue to lie to Ender throughout the book for the better good, to me it is justifiable given the circumstance. Struggle is another important theme because they continue to throw obstacles at Ender never allowing him to settle, when things get tough they only get tougher. Although he is at the top of the talent at battle school it isn't easily earned.
In my opinion the book was amazing, science fiction is on of my favorite genres. To me it read like a movie, and i recently found out that one is coming out. Deceit for the better good is one of the themes that really touched me because it turns to who is in the better goods interest. And usually lying for the better good isn't justifiable. i can also relate to the feel of having to grow up quickly that i got from this book for a few different reasons. Overall i would definitely recommend this book to read if you haven't already, it is an absolute masterpiece.

Wildcard; Poetry
I chose this as my wildcard because this song displays qualitys of poetry we've been talking about in class. Along with that it also tells a story. Its a long time favorite of mine by one of my favorite artist.
ads
This first ad is for Svedka vodka. It uses sex to sell the product. It depicts two topless attractive women using a sign that says "Drink Svedka" to cover their breast. Its selling beauty along with sex and good times. Its geared towards men and young men cause well, who loves topless women more?
This second ad is for Absolut vodka. To me it uses pretty colors and flowers, visually appealing to sell the product. The bottle is cover in healthy looking bright flowers, Its selling outdoors, life, and beauty.
To me this ad is geared towards women because it comes off a bit feminine. Do men like pretty flowers and the taste of "spring". I don't think so.

Somethings Missing
(Photo I took at Bodega Head)
"Somethings Missing"
Salt crisp in the air,
Its clean like her hair.
tides higher then lower,
wish it happened slower.
The sky is mural,
A masterpiece painted by the sun
Or maybe it was my one.
Turning tangerine to grey to black.
Sun still shining silhouetting something,
waves still crashing, breeze still blowing
But somethings gone and going
something I've been stripped of
gone and missing, I've lost you love.

The Man With Wings
A video me and a few friends made back in high school for an advertisement project for video productions thats won a few awards at local film festivals. relates to our class topic of ads and offers a little bit of comedy with a twist at the end that ties it all together.
